Soul Sessions is a resurrection of a Gaia Tribe event from back in the day when the house music scene is Eugene was thriving. Tonight catch Rortron and Anythony Hornof on the decks. Light up the dance floor. Light up your life.
DJ Anthony Hornof deejayed in New York City nightclubs. He spent many hours learning from legends such as David Mancuso, Larry Levan, and Frankie Knuckles.
RORTRON is based out of Eugene, Oregon, Rortron started DJing and producing at the beginning of 2018. After losing his job, he decided to purchase a controller and start learning how to mix. Since then, he has fallen in love with providing good vibes on the dance floor. His selection focuses on soul, house, funk, disco, and much more.

Blü Egyptian are coming off another awe-inspiring year. The self-described “Prog-jam that goes ham" band is known for their explosive live performances fusing rock, bluegrass, funk, reggae and electronica. Based in the Sacramento area, the band continues to play for growing audiences in the Northwest, Arizona, Colorado, and Southern California while sharing the stage with renowned national touring acts like Melvin Seals & JGB, Dogs in a Pile, Jerry's Middle Finger, Pink Talking Fish, Dizgo, The Mother Hips and Thumpasaurus. There's been an ongoing buzz from memorable festival sets at Burning Man, Golden Road Gathering, Cascade Equinox, Gambler's Run, Hog Farm Hideaway and more. With each show being different from the last, every set is a soundscape of original songs and choice covers for a dance friendly out-of-body experience.
In 2025, the band released 4 singles, including a collaboration with Junior Toots on a Tribute to Toots Hibbert. The band continues to release live shows on Bandcamp while performing to growing crowds since the release of their third album “Chantress of Amun" in 2024.

The Calico Crows weave song-driven Americana with roots and indie folk influences, creating sounds that span from delicate balladry to gritty, foot-stomping anthems. Formed in Eugene, Oregon in late 2024, the band features songwriter Brad Nolen (vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica), Devin Newman (banjo, guitar), Terry Travis (bass), and Titus Young (cello). Their distinctive approach combines traditional American folk instrumentation with modern indie sensibilities, anchored by the percussive, bright attack of banjo paired with the warm, sustained tones of cello—a sonic palette that draws from influences spanning traditional folk, contemporary Americana acts like Wilco and The Jayhawks, and the orchestral indie-folk of bands like The Decemberists and Fleet Foxes. The result is fundamentally song-driven music that bridges the gap between intimate coffeehouse performances and the sweeping arrangements of modern indie folk, creating a sound that feels both authentically rooted and refreshingly innovative.

Since 2002 DJ Xacto has been sharing his deep collection of Reggae music at clubs, concerts and broadcast radio. A resident of Eugene for 10 years, Xacto continues to delight with all the Reggae anthems.

This week we are honored to host long time friends Sara Z and Mike Orbit.
Mike Orbit is a veteran of the Pacific Northwest house music scene and has been DJing for over 25 years.
Sara Z is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, & DJ who approaches music as our most sacred expression. Originally from LA with most of her adult life spent in Eugene, OR, her first love of house music is best reflected in the attention to the intangible and subtle nuances of dance music learned by countless hours, nights and weeks spent on the dance floor. After years of dancing to the sounds of local underground collectives, Sara began to mix records with her best friend’s vinyl collection. She has now been performing and DJing for over a decade. Sara’s sets and blends reflect her foundation of experience with jazz, violin and heartfelt songwriting. As a songwriter, Sara aims to capture and reflect the complexities of the bittersweet human experience acting as a vessel and letting it flow through with earnest storytelling. Sara Z’s understanding of music in its technicality and emotion is recognized and appreciated by both curators and creators alike, most notably her collaborations with Jerome LOL, DJDS, Daedalus, Star Slinger, Bondax, Taches, and JMSN.
