Pisces Playground
March 7
Partake in the party at Pisces Playground, the latest in PLAY’s Astrological event series!
Solovox headlines the event.
Solovox is not really a DJ, but he stopped correcting people years ago. Call him what you want, he has been an essential crowd favorite of the West Coast music scene for 20 years...headlining countless shows and festivals with a ridiculous blend of live keyboard wizardry and irresistible, positive music.
Remixing DJ tracks live onstage...playing original compositions, and sometimes completely improvising, he lays down walls of pure sound blending psychedelic synths and filthy funk licks that blend modern dance music with a nod to his classic rock and jazz roots. If you've never seen it, it's time.
Solovox has played or headlined hundreds of shows and festivals including multiple stints at What The Festival, Oregon Country Fair (first ever electronic act booked), Burning Man, Pacific Fire Gathering, Los Angeles Burning Man Decompression, Nexus (LA), Fuente Eterno in Mexico, Elysium (San Diego), and Shift festival. In Portland he has become a staple at HOWL, Whiteout, and multiple New Year's Eve events like Inspire: Truth.
Luke Mandala
This is deep piscean scorpio music, sprinkled with unusual sounds, unexpected twists, eclectic mix of global sounds, various tempos and grooves. It reflects stories of love-driven culture and open-minded ideas. Depending on the crowd, the sets can vary from being pretty and uplifting to deep, dark, and primal, although they typically feature melodic and atmospheric textures infused with a lot of emotion.
Dave Dluxx
Dave Dluxx strives to meld his love of music with the energy he draws from those that come to dance. He’s spent years traveling far abroad and going deep in his own pacific northwest backyard to find and create a style that is all his own. His music blends deep, tech and spacey rhythms that keep the dance floor pumping. He is always seeking to create that perfect mix, weaving the soul and beats as one.
Andrew Mataus
Andrew Mataus has had many accomplishments through out his musical career. From playing Russia's premier club "Propaganda" in Moscow at the mere age of 18, his love for house music has taken him across the globe. Having played for diverse international audiences, Andrew has developed a solid understanding of crowd control, making him a repeat contender for the world's most notorious house music clubs. His tour's have landed him gig's at the "House Cafe/San Juan Festival/Telefunken" in LaCoruna Spain and "Paradise Garage" in Portugal. Throughout his travels he has also been invited to warehouse parties in Amsterdam, Russia, Houston, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Calgary- ending smoothly on the beaches of Costa RIca.
